A few days in Viena before starting my Job Shadowing!

Before my Jobshadowing in Waidring Hotel (Tirol), I spent several days getting to know Vienna. Majestic city where I was able to see its main touristic attractions (palaces, museums and beautiful architecture). The Austrians are open-minded and friendly people.  

The hot days were hotter than expected.  But that did not mean that I had to participate in the life of the Austrians (dinner in typical stalls and a concert in the town hall square).

A few more days would have been great!!!!!!!

COIMBRA - DESTINATION STEEPED IN HISTORY

  This year the adventure took place at the D. Luís Coimbra hotel, a benchmark in the area's accommodation offer. I would like to highlight the friendliness of his manager and his willingness to transfer knowledge. The hotel is located in a privileged area with fantastic views of the  Mondego river and the highlights of Coimbra. In the hotel I had the opportunity to get to know first hand the services offered, the work team and some of the processes of the Reception Department, Housekeeping Department, Events and F&B. I have also been able to visit some emblematic places, such as Fátima, Aveiro, Porto, etc. I show you some pictures of this adventure. Highly recommended!!!!

A new experience: Lisbon

This summer I had the opportunity to get to know first-hand a company in the tourism sector. I spent 5 days training in a 5-star hotel in Lisbon. The stay began with a tour of the facilities to get to know the range of services on offer, location, etc. As well as getting to know the visible part of the hotel, I was able to visit the heart of the hotel, its work areas ..... During my stay I got to know the organisation chart of the company and its team. In addition, the meetings with management helped me to learn about aspects related to revenue management, regulations, types of clients, event management and to learn about the processes of some of the departments.  I have also been lucky enough to get to know Lisbon and its surroundings.

SECOND DAY - RECEPTION DEPARTMENT

            Today I had the opportunity to get to know the reception area, its team, as well as the most important processes for the correct management: check-in, check-out, booking. In addition, I have discovered items related to tour operators, travel agencies, commissions and so on.  In addition, I have researched on the typology of clients according to seasons, their characteristics, average stay, etc.
